How can we help?
How can I get support and advice from Women in Sport?
We exist to create a society where every woman and girl can experience the joy, resilience and lifelong benefits of sport. A big part of that is sharing the insight and expertise we’ve built over more than 40 years.
You can explore our work in a number of ways:
Access our research and insight for free covering everything from early years stereotyping and teenage girls’ experiences of sport, to menopause, girls-only opportunities and how factors such as ethnicity, disability and socio-economic background can shape women and girls’ experiences of sport.
- Listen to our podcast, which brings together experts from sport and beyond to challenge thinking, share ideas and inspire change.
- Sign up to our newsletter to stay up to date with our latest research, campaigns and opportunities to get involved.
- Follow us on social media for practical insight, conversation and inspiration.
How can I motivate girls and women who are currently disengaged from sport?
We have a wealth of research and insight which explores women and girls’ relationships with sport, and their unique values and motivations. Every woman and girl’s relationship with sport is different, shaped by background, culture, life stage, representation and experiences. Our insight helps organisations better understand those realities and create environments where women and girls feel they truly belong.
Our key research includes:
Can you support me to develop a strategy to attract more girls and women to my club?
Yes. We work with organisations across sport, education, health, business and the public sector to help create more engaging experiences for women and girls.
Our tailored support can include:
- Insight and audience understanding
- Strategy development
- Workshops and training
- Campaign support
- Speaking engagements
- Research and consultancy
As a charity with a small team, we’re not able to offer free bespoke advice or consultancy support to individual clubs. However, many of the challenges organisations face are explored in our free research and insight, which includes practical recommendations and solutions.
If you are interested in commissioned support or consultancy, please contact us and tell us more about your organisation and goals.
Who can I talk to about girls not being allowed to take part in all sports at our school?
We know girls can still face unequal opportunities and barriers to taking part in sport and physical activity at school.
In the first instance, we suggest speaking with the Head Teacher or PE Lead to better understand the situation and share your concerns.
Our research and insights can also help you understand:
- the barriers girls experience in sport
- the impact this can have on participation
- practical ways schools can create more equal sporting environments
Can you provide an expert speaker/panellist for an event I am running?
Our team regularly contributes to conferences, panels, workshops and events to a range of different audiences. Please contact with events@womeninsport.org with details of your event and requirements.
Please note that speaking engagements will usually involve a charitable contribution.
