Get Out Get Active

Launched in October 2016, Get Out Get Active (GOGA) is an exciting programme that supports disabled and non-disabled people to enjoy being active together. Funded by Spirit of 2012 all partners are focused on getting some of the UK’s least active people moving more through fun and inclusive activities.

Women in Sport have worked with a number of GOGA localities across the UK including Thanet, Wrexham, Forth Valley and GOGA in Northern Ireland, sharing our research and insight and helping organisations better understand the needs of women and girls in their local communities.

By combining our expertise with that of partners such as Activity Alliance, Sporting Equals, Disability Rights UK, and Volunteering Matters we have been able to generate new research and create positive impact for some of the least active women in the UK, including women of lower socio-economic status, disabled women and women from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background.

For more information visit our Get Out Get Active toolkit, for research and advice on how to engage women and girls to get active and stay active, as well as support disabled and non-disabled women to be active together.
