New Trustee for Women in Sport

Women in Sport has appointed Kuldeep Kaur onto its Board of Trustees. Kuldeep is currently Finance and Operations Director of England and GB Hockey where she has is responsible for finance, people, legal, governance, data and technology alongside leading the momentum behind equality, diversity and inclusion across the sport. Her appointment comes as the charity prepares to mark its 40th birthday in 2024.

Kuldeep has spent over 12 years working in team sports, taking on various leadership roles to introduce finance and strategy partnering to support decision making. Her work in the industry has spanned rugby and hockey, where she has also served to champion and coach both female and diverse leaders.

It is vital that we work to ensure women and girls are provided with the opportunities not just to participate in sport, but to thrive.

Kuldeep said: “I am honoured to take on this role at a pivotal time for women’s sport. I hope to help Women in Sport continue to influence and inspire change for women and girls in sport, tackling the barriers to activity with respected and ground-breaking insight. It is vital that we work to ensure sport is reflective of society and women and girls are provided with the opportunities not just to participate in sport, but to thrive.”

Kuldeep’s appointment follows the announcement in May of Julia Newton as the new Chair of Women in Sport.

Women in Sport’s incoming Chair Julia Newton said: “It’s wonderful that Kuldeep is joining our Board at such a pivotal moment in the charity’s history. She brings a wealth of experience from the governing bodies of two great team sports and I’m looking forward to working with her, the rest of the Board and the Executive to propel our cause forward and drive positive, lasting change for women and girls in sport and society.”
