Our Impact
Discover how our charity is making a difference to the lives of women and girls through sport
Girls belong in sport. It gives them joy, resilience, courage and a sense of belonging. Why then, do 1.3m girls drop out as teenagers?
From the moment they’re born, girls are stereotyped away from sport and towards a life on the side-lines. By the time they reach primary school, they have already developed less skills than the boys in their class, and by the time they’re teenagers, 4 in 10 will have been forced to walk away.
Women in Sport exists to change the system, not the girls.
Our research exposes the reality about how girls are pushed out of sport. And we don’t stop at evidence – we fight for change: more teams, more girls-only spaces, more female coaches, and PE and school sport that finally work for girls.
For more than 40 years, that has been our dream. Donate now to help us make it a reality.
If you’d prefer to donate via cheque, please send it to: Women in Sport, House of Sport, 4th Floor, 190 Great Dover Street, London SE1 4YB.
